Sailing claims second National Championship of season

Stanford captures fourth-consecutive ICSA Women’s Fleet Race National Championship

For the second time in 2026, Stanford sailing claimed a national championship. The team captured a fourth-consecutive ICSA Women’s Fleet Race National Championship today, finishing first with a total of 113 points.

Later in the week, the Cardinal took second at this week’s ICSA Open Fleet Race National Championship today, closing another dominant season of competition for Stanford Sailing.

Stanford has now won seven women's sailing national championships overall and finishes with multiple national championships for the third-straight season. This spring, the Cardinal finished first in 21 of 25 regattas, only failing to miss the top three once.

Addiotnally, for the third-straight year, Vanessa Lahrkamp was been named Quantum Women's Sailor of the Year. The senior has continued a dominant career this season, winning the award in unanimous fashion for the second-straight season to become the first-ever recipient of the award in three consecutive seasons.

Women's Golf secures top-seed in NCAA Championship Match Play

Megha Ganne runner-up in NCAA Individual Championship

Top-ranked Stanford women’s golf finished stroke play as the leaders for the sixth consecutive season, entering the match play portion of the 2026 NCAA Championship as the top seed. Three Cardinal finished in the top 15 overall, earning awards following the conclusion of stroke play.

The Cardinal shot 287 (-1) as a team, its worst round of the tournament, but still managed to extend its overall lead over No. 2 USC to 13 strokes, gaining eight on the Trojans. Stanford finishes stroke play 22-under as a team.

Sunday saw the conclusion of the individual national championship, as the day began with a pair of Cardinal in contention. Meja Örtengren began the day one stroke off the lead while Megha Ganne was two strokes back. In the end, everyone was chasing Farah O’Keefe of Texas, the No. 4-ranked amateur in the world, as she pulled away and would not surrender the lead. Ganne finished the day at 10-under, securing outright second in her final NCAA Championship.

Now the Card turn their attention to the eight-team match play tournament.

Men's Golf punches ticket to NCAA Championship

The Card finished second at the Columbus Regional

For the fourth time in the last five years, Stanford men’s golf is heading back to the NCAA Men’s Golf Championships as the Cardinal wrapped up competition at the Columbus Regional on Wednesday. Stanford finished the regional in second place while three golfers placed inside the top 20. 

Stanford’s qualification to the 2026 NCAA Championship Final 30 is the 17th under Knowles Family Director of Men’s Golf Conrad Ray.

Jay Leng (T11), Nathan Wang (T11), Ethan Gao (T17) all secured top 20 placements for the Card, leading the way for Stanford. The NCAA Men’s Golf Championship begins with the first round of stroke play on May 29th, in Carlsbad, CA.

Baseball defeats Cal at ACC Tournament

Team's season comes to an end after a second-round defeat to Miami

Meeting 2,700 miles from home, and for the fourth time in six days, Stanford defeated Bay Area rival California 11-4 in the first round of the 2026 ACC Baseball Championship.

Stanford’s bats came out hot on an 87-degree day in Charlotte, with the Cardinal managing the 11 runs on 11 hits – including five doubles and two homers. Stanford managed to score in five straight innings from the third to the seventh.

However, after ending the Golden Bears season in round one, the Card’s own season came to an end in round two, falling 11-2 to Miami. With the loss the Cardinal finished the season with a 28-26 overall record.
