FOR THE FOURTH-STRAIGHT SEASON, the Stanford Cardinal picked up multiple national championships. The Card brought home a fourth-straight title in ICSA Women's Fleet Race as well as a third-straight Women's Team Race crown.
The pair of titles give Stanford 10 national championships in program history (seven women's and three open), nine of which have come since head coach Chris Klevan took over ahead of the 2021-22 season.
TITLE RUN CONTINUES
Stanford took home the ICSA Women's Team Race National Championship on April 27, with Ellie Harned, Kit Harned, Sophie Fisher, Piper Blackband, Vanessa Lahrkamp and Alice Schmid going a near perfect 21-1 at the 15-team regatta.
Weeks later, the Cardinal picked up another title at the Women's Fleet Race National Championship. Vanessa Lahrkamp and Callie Hammond were in the A boat for the Cardinal, finishing first with 31 points. Sophie Fisher was skipper in the B boat, with Abby Baird, Piper Blackband and Alice Schmid rotating at crew. The B boat finished fifth with 82 points.
SUPERB SENIORS
The fleet race crown was the fourth for Lahrkamp and Fisher, who finish ther collegiate careers taking home the title each year. Lahrkamp earned honors after the season as well, earning a third-straight Women's Sailor of the Year award. The honors were unanimous as well for the second-straight season.
Lahrkamp, Fisher and Ellie Harned each took home All-America nods in their senior campaigns, with the trio combining for 13 career All-America honors.
CONFERENCE DOMINANCE
The Card swept all four PCCSC titles for a fifth-straight season, winning Women's Team, Women's Fleet, Open Team and Open Fleet titles.
