STANFORD, Calif. — Stanford women’s golf capped off another dominant performance at the Stanford Intercollegiate, hosted by Dr. Condoleezza Rice, with a team win and an individual medalist, winning its home tournament for the third consecutive season. More importantly, Stanford has raised over $170k for breast cancer research through PlayForHer.
It wasn’t quite the record-setting performance Stanford had at the 2026 NCAA Stanford Regional, finishing 42-under and winning by 38 strokes, but Stanford was the class of the field. The Cardinal shot an 824 (-28) to pace the field by 19 strokes over Virginia (-9). The best round on Sunday came from USC, who finished third overall (-7), as they went 7-under as a group, shooting a 277. Still, Stanford extended its lead over Virginia to win by 19 strokes, one stroke better than the Cardinal’s margin of victory last year.
Following the tournament, Stanford presented the check to Dr. Melinda Telli at the Stanford Breast Care Center. Her research is focused on aggressive and hereditary forms of breast cancer that often affect young people more than any other age group.
There were three Stanford standouts who entered with a chance to win, but it was Meja Örtengren who stole the show. She was on the low side again, posting a 67 (-4) in the final round to secure her third collegiate win. Örtengren put the pressure on her teammates early by recording birdies on the first two holes, pulling ahead of Andrea Revuelta by two strokes. After Revuelta pulled ahead a few strokes later, Örtengren ripped off three straight birdies on holes 6-8 to get the lead back and never looked back.
She only knocked down one birdie putt on the back nine, but didn’t need more, winning by three strokes over Revuelta. It’s her third collegiate win, giving her one in all three of her seasons at Stanford. She is also the second Cardinal to win the Stanford Intercollegiate in as many years, with her former teammate Megha Ganne winning last year. Örtengren shot a 199 (-14), the second-lowest 54-hole score by a woman on Stanford’s course.
Revuelta gave Örtengren a strong run for her money, ultimately finishing with a 202 (-11). She was clean with the exception of a bogey on 17, but only had three birdies, with two coming on the first four holes as she was jockeying for position with Örtengren. With a 69 in the final round, Revuelta earned a runner-up finish, giving Stanford the top-two spots on the leaderboard for the second year in a row at the Intercollegiate.
Two other Cardinal finished in the top six, with Anna Song earning the best finish of her career, finishing in outright fifth. She shot a 72 (+1) on the day, falling out of the battle for the win, but still finishing at 7-under for the weekend, a new low for her. Also earning the best finish of her career with an all-time low score was Nora Sundberg, who finished in a tie for sixth at 5-under. She closed her weekend with a 70 on Sunday, including four birdies during a six-hole span from holes 7-12.
The Cardinal has one more tournament in the fall as it heads to Hawai’i for the annual Nanea Invitational on Oct. 26-28. Stanford has won the tournament and had the individual medalist in each of the last two seasons, with Örtengren taking home the top spot last year.
