SAN DIEGO – Stanford Women’s Rowing saw its first taste of action this fall on Sunday, sending three eights boats to compete at the annual San Diego Fall Classic on Mission Bay in San Diego.
The Cardinal’s eights boats earned three of the top four finishes in the Women’s Open 8+ competition, with “SWC” finishing first, "Elle Logan" placing third, and "Attacker" finishing fourth. Stanford’s boats bested crews from UCLA, University of San Diego, UC San Diego, and San Diego. Additionally, senior Ella Casano coxed the lightweight program’s second eights boat and earned a ninth-place finish.
Stanford next hits the water on Nov. 14, competing in the “Little” Big Row against crews from the University of California, Berkeley. Racing will be split between Redwood Shores, Calif., and Berkeley, Calif.
