Nutter Qualifies for NCAAs
Women's track squad continues at Cyclone Classic.

AMES, Iowa - Stanford senior Nathan Nutter posted an automatic NCAA qualifying time in the 5,000 meters at the Iowa State Track and Field Classic Friday night. Nutter finished second in the race, posting a time of 13:57.68, to just beat the automatic qualifying time. Stanford's distance medley team, which has already qualified for NCAAs, placed 10th of 20 teams.
Stanford's indoor track and field team has sent athletes to three different meets this weekend as the Cardinal prepares for the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation and NCAA Indoor Championships. Most of the Stanford squad will compete at the Bill Cosby Invitational in Reno, Nev., Saturday only. Nutter and some other Cardinal men's distance runners traveled to Ames, Iowa, for the Iowa State Track and Field Classic, Friday and Saturday. And sophomore Melissa Feinstein traveled to legendary Madison Square Garden in New York City to pole vault at the prestigious Millrose Games.
Stanford competes tomorrow in the Iowa State Track and Field Classic and at the Bill Cosby Indoor Invitational in Reno, Nev. The Cardinal returns to action next Saturday at the Los Angeles Indoor Invitational in Los Angeles, CA, and at the Holiday Inn Indoor Invitational in Reno, NV. The MPSF Championships are in Reno, Nev. Feb. 19-20, and the NCAA Championships are in Indianapolis, IN March 5-6.
