Searle Earns MasterCard Scholarship Award

Men's golfer among six recipients honored.

STANFORD, Calif. - The College Golf Foundation announced today the six winners of the second annual MasterCard Graduate Scholarship Award, naming Stanford's David Searle the Division I men's recipient.

The $1,000 scholarship is awarded to graduating varsity college golfers who plan to continue their education in accredited post-graduate programs. The Awards are given annually to one male and one female varsity golfer from the NCAA's Divisions I, II and III.

Southern Methodist's Kendy Kuczka is the Division I women's recipient, while the Division II winners are Thomas Moore of High Point University and Marsha Jance of St. Joseph's College. Division III honorees are Andrew Wilkinson of Denison University and Gina Cesaretti of Cornell College.

Searle will graduate this June with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics. He has played for Stanford for two seasons after transferring from San Jose State after his freshman campaign. He plans to attend law school in the fall.
