Stanford, Calif. - Stanford junior right-handed pitcher Justin Wayne (Honolulu, HI/Punahou School) has been named the Pacific-10 Conference Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season, the conference announed today. The selection is the third in Wayne's career.

Wayne is coming off a two-hit complete game performance in Stanford's 5-1 win at Arizona State last Friday, marking the first time the potent hitting Sun Devils had been two-hit since managing just two hits against Oklahoma in the 1989 College World Series. Wayne retired 17 of the final 19 batters he faced after allowing back-to-back singles in the third inning.

Wayne is now 7-1 this season with a 1.95 ERA. He is also Stanford's leader this year in strikeouts (77), innings pitched (69.1) and complete games (4). He improved his school-record winning percentage to (.920) as he holds a 23-2 all-time on The Farm.

Stanford is currently ranked #7 by Baseball America. The Cardinal is 21-9 overall and has a 3-3 Pac-10 mark.

The Pac-10 Pitcher of the Week award honors a Stanford player for the third time this season and the 53rd time in the history of the award.
