Stanford Golf Third After First Round of NCAA Regional

The Stanford women's golf team is in third place with a 297 after the first round of the NCAA Regional Championships at the Karsten Golf Course in Tempe, Ariz. The Cardinal trails first place Tulsa (294) and second place Arizona (296) heading into today's second round.

Freshman Kim Rowton and juniors Hilary Homeyer and Salimah Mussani are tied for 13th place after shooting an opening round 74. Junior Stephanie is one stroke behind her teammates in 22nd place, while senior JaeJean Ro finished with a 76 for a tie for 36th place.

Stanford's score of 297 is the best first round performance of the season.
