Women's Soccer takes On Santa Clara Wednesday Night

STANFORD, Calif. - The Stanford Cardinal women's soccer team will face itsstiffest challenge of the spring on Wednesday night as the Santa Clara LadyBroncos visit New Maloney. Gametime will be 6pm.

Stanford is 1-2-1 on the spring, having beat UC-Davis 3-0, tied the alums1-1, and dropped identical 3-0 decisions to a local boys' team and theW-League's Sacramento Storm. Stanford only has 15 eligible players for thespring after the loss of the 1999 senior class, and that includes twogoalkeepers.

The Broncos come off a 23-1 fall season in which their only loss came inthe national semi-finals to Notre Dame. In their first two matches of thespring, Santa Clara defeated Florida State 4-1 and Colorado 6-1.
