FRESNO STATE
Head Coach Bob Bennett (opening comments): "There is not much to say afteryou have lost a game 13-5. We are out of the tournament and feel badly aboutthat. They played well, we didn't."
(on scoring runs late): "I don't think we gave up. They just hit the ballwell and we didn't do the job. I think we tried. There was no question aboutthat."
Tom Graham (on the game): "I didn't do what I was supposed to do out there.I made some bad pitches early and it cost me. I did what you are notsupposed to do."
Anthony Acevado (how big was missing chance to score in 1st inning): "Ithink it was one of many opportunities in the game. It would have been niceto make something out of it, but we weren't much in a hole, only down fourruns at the time. We had plenty of opportunities and plenty of game left tomount a rally. It wasn't devastating."
NEVADA
Head Coach Gary Powers (opening comments): "It was a good game from ourstandpoint. Our team came out and swung the bats and got us a little bit ofa cushioning, which made it a lot easier to deal with. Darrell battledthrough some control problems and gave six solid innings. We had a coupleguys come out of the bullpen that held the lead for us and I feel good aboutthat."
(on how good your hitting is): "I don't compare teams. We do whatever we dothrough the course of the season. People don't realize we only play 22 homegames. We play a lot of games down here, in LA, and in Arizona. We weren'thome for 54 games or even 35 or 40 like a lot of other teams."
(extra satisfaction beating a WAC team?): "That wasn't a part of our thoughtprocess. We played Fresno many times before and played in there leaguebefore. We are just dealing with what we have to do here and next year is awhole different deal and we will have a new team and so will they."
(on approach to hitting today): "Our people knew what had not done properlyyesterday. I thought yesterday's game was totally out of character for usoffensively. But credit should be to Murphy who did a good job. I don'tchange that. Today, we were taking opportunities to get into hitters countsinstead of swinging at anything they'd throw at us."
Darrell Rasner (on getting a lead to start game): "I tried to not gettinganything going through my mind. I just wanted to get some strikes in there.Coach said I had some control problems, but I got through that."
(on control this season): "I have had pretty good control most of hteseason. Today is not something normally do walking three in the first but Igot through that."
Matt Ortiz (on early lead): "Whenever you get a lead right off the bat, itsets a tone for the ball game. It seems like when we do that in the firstinning, have some good at bats, put up some runs, hit the ball hard, we setthe tone for the whole day, and that is pretty important. We got thepitching. We are an offensive team and we want to put up some numbers andscore runs."
(on every being out of control): "No. Darrell threw pretty well today. Hemissed on some pitches. He was down all day. He threw a real good ball game.I never once thought that we were out of control of the game. I was prettyhappy with how we played today."
