Women's Gymnastics Concludes Season at NCAA Championships

ATHENS, Georgia - Freshmen Lindsay Wing and Lise L?veill? wrapped up the 2001 season for Stanford women's gymnastics in Stegeman Coliseum Saturday night at the University of Georgia. Wing and L?veill? helped lead the Cardinal to its best season ever, with an eighth place finish at the NCAA Championships and its second Pac-10 title in four years. Wing snagged second place on beam with a 9.925. Competing fifth, Wing's score propelled her into first place, until Utah's Theresa Kulikowski, competing eleventh, posted a 9.938. L?veill? chalked up a 9.850 on floor - good for eleventh place.

Wing capped off an incredible rookie campaign with a second place finish on beam in the event finals. She earned First Team All-America honors on beam and the All-Around and was named a Second Team All-American on floor. Wing was named Pac-10 Freshman of the Year and All-Conference in the All-Around and beam.

L?veill?, a First Team All-American on floor, also completed a solid freshman season for the Cardinal with a eleventh place finish on floor in the event finals. She was named to the Pac-10 All-Conference team on beam and floor, posting a 9.975 and 9.950 respectively.
