Stanford, Calif. - Stanford softball players Sarah Beeson (Tucson, AZ), Jessica Mendoza (Camarillo, CA), Dana Sorensen (San Diego, CA) and Jessica Allister (Nacogdoches, TX) were selected to the 2001 NFCA Pacific All-Region Softball Teams. Beeson, Mendoza, and Sorensen were first team selections while Allister garnered second team accolades.
Four Pac-10 teams dominated the 24-player regional teams: Arizona (five players), Stanford (four players), Washington (four players) and UCLA (four players). The Wildcats landed four athletes on the first team while the Cardinal and the Bruins had three each.
All players named to the regional team are now eligible for All-America honors.
