Norristown, Pa. - The American Water Polo Coaches Association has named its All-American teams for the 2002 season. Stanford goalie Jackie Frank (Long Beach, CA) was tabbed the Division I Player of the Year after leading the Cardinal to their first NCAA National Title.

Frank, the MPSF Goalie of the Year, was also named MVP of the 2002 NCAA Championships after recording a season-high 12 saves and allowing UCLA to score just once in the Bruins' six-on-five opportunities in the championship match. On the year, Frank tallied 179 saves in goal, averaging 7.08 per contest. She was selected to the NCAA and MPSF Championship All-Tournament First Teams.

Ellen Estes (Novato, CA) was also named a First Team All-American, after earning First Team All-MPSF honors, NCAA All-Tournament First Team and MPSF All-Tournament Second Team accolades. Estes netted 35 goals in her final season, including three scores at the NCAA Championships and five in the conference tournament.

Brenda Villa (Commerce, CA) joins Estes and Frank on the first team. Villa, last year's Player of the Year, led the Cardinal in scoring with 60 goals and scored in 23 of Stanford's 25 games. She also earned First Team All-MPSF honors and was selected to the All-Tournament First Team's at this year's NCAA and MPSF Championships.

Margie Dingeldein (Merced, CA) represented Stanford as a Third Team All-American. The senior finished with 35 goals and scored in 20 of the team's 25 contests. Dingeldein was also selected to the All-MPSF Second Team and earned All-Tournament Second Team honors in the NCAA Championships. After recording eight goals in the conference tournament, she was named to the MPSF Championships All-Tournament Second Team.

Kate Pettit (Bainbridge Island, WA) received Honorable Mention All-American accolades. Pettit finished with 10 goals in her senior campaign, including a score against Michigan in the national semifinal game.

Stanford finished the 2002 season with a 23-2 overall record and won its first NCAA National Title with a 8-4 win over UCLA on May 12.
