STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford senior Curt Toppel (Pacific Palisades, CA/Loyola HS) was named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Player of the Week on Wednesday. The award is Toppel's second of the season, making him just the third MPSF player to accomplish that feat this season.

Toppel guided the Cardinal to wins at Long Beach State and UC San Diego last weekend by recording 43 kills (6.14 pg), eight blocks (1.14 pg), three aces (.430 pg) and seven digs in seven games. He also hit .452 for the week.

In a 3-1 win over Long Beach State last Friday, Toppel had a season-high 30 kills, four blocks, three digs, a service ace and a .500 hitting percentage (30 k-7 e-46 ta). In a 3-0 win at UC San Diego last Saturday, the senior had 13 kills, four blocks, four digs, two service aces and a .370 hitting percentage (13-3-27).
