OJAI, Calif. - Stanford University freshman Joanna Kao (Fullerton, CA) lost in the semifinals of the Pac-10 Women's Tennis Singles Invitational on Saturday morning at Libbey Park.
Kao, who won three matches in two days to reach the semifinals, dropped a 6-1, 6-2 decision to Nicole Havlicek of California.
Stanford has been eliminated from this weekend's competition, and will now prepare to defend its NCAA Team Championship. The NCAA brackets will be announced on Wednesday, April 30 at 1:30 p.m. (Pacific Time) on ESPN News. The NCAA Women's Tennis Tournament begins on Friday, May 9 on campus sites.
