Rancho Cordova, Calif. - The Stanford Lightweight Varsity eight jumped out quickly at the Pacific Coast Rowing Championships and never looked back. 500 meters into the race the Cardinal had a four seat advantage over San Diego State and a one length advantage over Cal. The margin widened significantly in the second thousand, as Stanford finished 15 seconds ahead of the field. The novice eight put up a great fight and finished in fourth place, 2.5 seconds behind the Cal varsity. Next up for Stanford is the National Championships on May 30th and 31st in Cherry Hill, NJ.
