Long Beach, Calif. - Stanford junior Lindsay Wing (Cypress, TX) has been named to the 2003 Verizon Academic All-District VIII Women's At-Large Third Team as selected by CoSIDA. Wing, a Human Biology major, holds a 3.30 cumulative GPA. The at-large category includes student-athletes in the following women's sports: crew, gymnastics, skiing, fencing, ice hockey, swimming, water polo, field hockey, lacrosse, tennis, golf and rifle.
Wing, a 2003 First Team All-American on the Balance Beam, helped Stanford to a strong showing at the NCAA Championships this season. She is a three-time First Team All-American on the beam, including her second-place finish on the event as a freshman in 2001.
She was an All-Pac-10 selection on beam. She was crowned the conference beam champion with a 9.975 at the Pac-10 Championships and posted the program's first perfect 10.00 on beam against Oklahoma. Wing has scored at least a 9.875 on beam on all 11 meets, and took first place eight times.
Wing is a five-time All-American, also picking up Second Team All-America honors this season with a fifth-place finish on the uneven bars First Team All-America status in the All-Around in 2001.
