Cardinal Continue Conference Road Trip: The seventh-ranked Stanford softball team (38-12, 8-4 Pac-10), who are on a four-game winning streak, travel to Tempe, Arizona, to face Arizona State (31-23, 1-9 Pac-10) on Friday, April 30 at 7 p.m. The Cardinal will then head to Tucson and take on No. 1 Arizona (45-2, 9-1 Pac-10) on Saturday, May 1 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, May 2 at 1 p.m.

With nine conference games remaining in 2004, the Cardinal have already surpassed their number of wins from 2003 (7-14). With the current 21-game league schedule, the most Pac-10 wins for Stanford came in 2001, when they went 11-10.

Last Time Out: The Cardinal went 4-1 last week splitting a doubleheader with St. Mary's College (L, 1-2/W, 7-0) before sweeping three conference tilts over the weekend. Stanford defeated No. 4 UCLA, 1-0, on Friday, then beat No. 6 Washington, 12-9, on Saturday and 3-2 (8 innings) on Sunday. Lauren Lappin hit .471 over five games with six RBI while teammate Jessica Allister led the squad with 10 RBI. Catalina Morris hit .385 with seven runs scored while in the circle, Dana Sorensen went 2-1 with victories over UCLA and Washington. Pitcher Laura Severson posted a 2-0 record for the week (7-0 win over SMC; 12-9 win over the Huskies). Elizabeth Bendig and Jackie Rinehart hit .375 for the week with six hits each.
