STANFORD, Calif. - The Pacific bats came alive in Game Three of the NCAA Softball Regional at Stanford as they pounded out 13 hits and 10 runs to knock off Southern Miss 10-2.
At the plate, Pacific was led by Crystal Presson who was 3-for-3 with a double, one RBI and two runs scored. Eight of the nine starters for the Tigers reached base safely, and seven different batters drove in runs throughout the game. Starter Jennifer Dacre recorded the win for Pacific and improves to 15-11 with the win.
Southern Miss was able to put the bat on the ball and record six hits, but it was not enough on this day. Auriel Jenkins led the Golden Eagles going 1-for-3 with a solo homerun in the second inning, two RBI's and one run scored.
Fourth-seeded Pacific moves on to face the winner of the Stanford-Utah game Friday afternoon at 3 pm. Fifth-seeded Southern Miss will take on the loser of that game at 10 a.m. on Friday.
