Stanford, Calif. -- Hofstra's Meaghan Almon drove inthe winning run on a single to left in the bottom ofthe 12th inning to give The Pride a 1-0 win overSouthern Illinois today at the Stanford SoftballRegional at Boyd and Jill Smith Family Stadium.
Hofstra improves to 36-19 on the year while theSalukis fall to 43-16.
It was a classic pitchers dual for 11 and a halfinnings of play until Hofstra's Meaghan Almon drove inKelly Morris in the bottom of the 12th for the 1-0win.
Adrienne Clark (12-12) picked up the win for Hofstra,pitching 12 shutout innings while scattering eighthits. Amy Harre (20-7) took the loss for SouthernIllinois, allowing one unearned run on eight hits over11.2 innings of work.
Hofstra was led by Tara Ulrich, Lisa Wambold andAdrienne Clark who each collected two hits. Almoncollected the lone RBI in the game while Kelly Morrisscored the lone run.
For the Salukis, Katie Louis, Katie Jordan and JennyDoehring each recorded two hits.
Southern Illinois will play Southern Mississippi in anelimination game tonight at 8 p.m. while Hofstraawaits the winner of the Stanford/Pacific game for a 1p.m. game on Saturday.
