Three Stanford Players Awarded All-MPSF and MPSF All-Tournament Honors

Sophomores Christina Hewko and Meridith McColl were awarded with 2005 MPSF All-Tournament Team honors, and Hewko was also included on the 2005 All-MPSF First-Team. Meridith McColl and Katie Hansen, also a sophomore, garnered 2005 All-MPSF Second Team honors as well.

Hewko, a member of the 2004 U.S. Junior National Team that won gold at the Junior World Championships, tallied four goals in three games of the MPSF Tournament, including two in Stanford's 9-5 upset win over USC.

McColl, a starting goalie for the 2004 U.S. Junior National Team, recorded thirty saves in the MPSF Tournament, including a phenomenal 19 saves against USC in the semi-final round. She blocked all four shots from USC's four man-up situations. McColl's performance against USC ranks in Stanford's all-time list.

Hansen, also a member of the 2004 U.S. Junior National Team that won gold at Junior Worlds, scored six goals in Stanford's three games of the MPSF Tournament. Hansen recorded three goals in Stanford's 7-3 win over Cal on the first day of the tournament.

Stanford (20-6, 9-3) has been ranked No. 3 in the upcoming NCAA Championships, to be held in Ann Arbor, Michigan May 13-15, 2005.
