STANFORD SNAPSHOT
TWO-GAME WIN STREAK SNAPPED - Stanford had its two-game win streak snapped with Thursday night's 3-0 loss at Oregon State ... The Cardinal had previously beaten San Jose State and Pacific in back-to-back non-conference games, scoring a season-high-tying 13 runs versus the Spartans and allowing only one against the Tigers
SHUTOUT STORY - Stanford suffered its first shutout in a Pac-10 game at Oregon State on Thursday since the Cardinal was blanked 4-0 at California on April 28, 2001, breaking a string of 109 consecutive conference games without being shutout ... The Cardinal was also shutout for the first time overall since falling 2-0 in 10 innings to Pacific at Sunken Diamond on March 29, 2005, ending a stretch of 60 consecutive games without being shutout
SCORING DROUGHT - Stanford has scored just two runs in its last 18 innings and is averaging just 4.9 per game this season
A QUICK LOOK AT THE PAC - Stanford is in an unfamiliar last-place spot in the Pac-10 standings with its 2-5 conference mark ... USC (8-2) has jumped out to a 2.5 game lead in the standings and is followed by Oregon State (4-3), Arizona State (4-3), California (5-5), Washington (4-5), UCLA (3-4), Arizona (3-4), Washington State (4-6) and Stanford (2-5)
SOGGY SEASON - Stanford has made 10 changes to its schedule this season due to soggy weather but is still on track to get 55 regular season contests in with a possible makeup date at Santa Clara to get to the maximum number of 56 games in a season
BUSY SECOND HALF - The postponed games caused by weather and a normally more compacted second half of the schedule have combined to contribute to Stanford having its final 29 games scheduled over the last 43 days of its season after playing just 27 in its first 70
TV GAMES ON THE HORIZON - Stanford is scheduled to play three games on three different television entities in the coming weeks ... Stanford's 2006 television debut will come on CSTV in the opener of a home series versus Arizona State on Friday, April 28 ... The Cardinal is also scheduled to be on Comcast and Fox Sports Net in back-to-back contests against California at Sunken Diamond on Friday and Saturday, May 5 and 6
THREE-SERIES LOSING STREAK - Stanford's current three-series losing streak is its longest since Stanford also dropped three in a row versus Cal State Fullerton, Fresno State and Santa Clara from February 3-20, 1995 ... Stanford has not lost four straight regular season series since dropping two-of-three in each of its last three series of 1993 (at California, UNLV, UCLA), as well as its first series in 1994 (Cal State Fullerton)
SEASON SUMMARY - Stanford started the season with a three-game sweep of then No. 5 Cal State Fullerton (2/3-5), before dropping two-of-three to Kansas (2/10-12), taking two-of-three against then No. 7 Texas (2/18-20) and at Fresno State (2/24-26), splitting a weather-shortened two-game set at California (3/3-4), then dropping two-of-three at USC (3/10-12), versus Washington State (3/25-27), and then in a Pac-10 rematch versus USC (4/1-2) ... Michael Taylor is just five shy of the mark ... Chris Minaker reached the 100 career RBI mark at San Jose State (4/8) and is just one shy of his 100th career run
