Junior Janice Davis (Natchez, MS/Natchez HS) of the Stanford Women's Track & Field Team was selected as the Stanford/MET-Rx Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of May 2-May 8.
Davis had a career day at last week's Sacramento State Open, running a career-best 11.42 in the 100 meters and a career-best 23.48 in the 200 meters to win both events. Her time in the 100 meters is third-best in school history, and her 200 meter time is fourth-best in school history. Both times were NCAA West Regional qualifying efforts.
This is Davis' first Stanford/MET-Rx Student-Athlete of the Week honor. Davis and the rest of the Stanford Men's and Women's Track & Field teams will compete at the Pac-10 Championships on May 13-14 in Eugene, OR
