Walnut Creek, Calif. - Stanford junior righthanded pitcher Greg Reynolds earned Pac-10 Pitcher of the Week honors for the second time in both his career and the last three weeks for the period ending Monday, May 15. Reynolds pitched his first career complete game shutout and the first by a Stanford pitcher this season when he blanked Washington, 5-0, to outduel Husky ace Tim Lincecum in a 5-0 win victory last Friday, May 12. Reynolds struck out nine, while scattering eight hits and walking just one to win his fourth straight start.
Reynolds is now 6-3 on the season with a 3.17 ERA, while striking out 80 in 96.2 innings over 14 starts.
His selection marked the 72nd time a Stanford pitcher has been chosen for the honor in the history of the award and the third time this season with his two selections and David Stringer's on February 28.
Stanford hosts Santa Clara in a non-conference at Sunken Diamond this Tuesday, May 16 (6 pm, PT), before heading to Los Angeles for its final Pac-10 series of the season with a three-game set at UCLA this Friday-Sunday, May 19-21 (6 pm, 2 pm, 1 pm, PT).
