Complete Day Two Results & Notes

Stanford, Calif. - After a downpour and a few hours of waiting, the NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Quarterfinals took place -- indoors and outdoors, on courts 35 miles apart.

In San Francisco, seventh-seeded Miami scored the only upset of the day, knocking off second-seeded Notre Dame, while 11th-seeded Northwestern came up just short against third-seeded USC as the Women of Troy held on for a 4-3 victory. The Hurricanes and Trojans will face off on Sunday morning in the 9 a.m. semifinal at Taube Stadium.

In Palo Alto, No. 4 Florida and No. 1 Stanford both tallied 4-0 victories to advance to Sunday's 12-noon semifinal at Taube Stadium. The Gators knocked off fifth-seeded Baylor on the south courts, while the Cardinal dispatched No. 8 Duke on the stadium courts.

The women will take tomorrow off, as the NCAA Division I Men's Tennis Championship begins with the Round of 16 on Saturday at 9 a.m.
