Stanford concluded day three of the individual tournament splitting its two singles matches and losing its one doubles match. James Pade were eliminated today after losing their opening round match. The tournament continues through Monday at the Taube Tennis Center.

Corkery got the day started for the Cardinal by winning his second straight match in the individual competition. He is now 30-5 in singles this season. Lecloerec entered the match as the 15th ranked player in the country. Corkery, unseeded in the tournament, is ranked 25th. He will face Arnau Brugues of Tulsa, the seventh seeded player in the tournament, in tomorrow's Round of 16.

Bruch, who was seeded 9-16, was beaten today in the Round of 32 by Erling Tveit of Mississippi, 7-6, 7-5, ending his 10-match winning streak. For Bruch, the Pac-10 Newcomer of the Year and the ITA National Rookie to Watch, today's defeat marked the end of an outstanding freshman season at Stanford. He finished the year with a 30-9 overall record. He won all four of his singles matches for the Cardinal during their NCAA tournament run, which ended in a 4-3 loss to Baylor in the quarterfinals.

Corkery and Pade were gunning for an upset over third seeded Kevin Anderson and Ryan Rowe of Illinois, but lost a second set tie-breaker, then lost 6-4 in the third set.
