LSU 3, Cal State Northridge 2

May 17, 2007

LSU:

Head Coach, Yvette Girouard: "It seems to be symptomatic of our team. We start really slow, we've done that in a few SEC series and obviously during the SEC tournament.

"I thought Emily [Turner] came in and gave us a bit of a spark to shut them down."

"We looked like we never got off the plane. Kudos to Northridge, they certaintly weren't intimidated by anything."

"Well there's nothing we can do about that now. If we feel sorry for ourselves then we'll be going back to Baton Rouge a lot sooner than we'd like. We're over that."

Senior Pitcher, Emily Turner: "I feel that Dani[Hofer] and I are going to be the first people to admit when we don't feel like we do a good enough job. Today both Dani and I didn't have our A-game."

"I felt I did my job coming in, and our hitters showed up in the sixth inning."

"It just always seems like when one of us doesn't have an exceptional game, the other is always there to support. That's what I think has held our team together all year. I feel like it's my obligation to her and finish the game for her, and she does it for me."

Junior Catcher, Killian Roessner: "[Leslie] Klein gets a double and I drive her in, that's what we like to do. When I saw what she did I said to myself 'it's my turn, I'm going to drive her in.'"

CSU-Northridge:

Head Coach, Barbara Jordan: "I thought we played well for not having a whole lot NCAA experience in our starting lineup. I was proud of the girls for coming out and attacking and not being intimidated. I think that says a lot about the team. I was proud of how we played and it's disappointing to come up short."

Senior Infielder, Kelly Zakosek: "We came out strong, we came out fighting, we're a come from behind team and I thought we did very well."
