Stanford, Calif. - Stanford goalkeeper Laura Shane was named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association All-Regional first team for the West/Midwest region, it was announced Thursday. The junior makes her second straight appearance on the West/Midwest first team and earned her third consecutive all-regional honor.

Shane led the Cardinal to its third straight MPSF title this season, helping Stanford avenge conference losses to Denver and Oregon in the MPSF Tournament. The Baltimore native posted 28 saves and a 6.51 goals against average over three games in the tournament, taking home Tournament MVP honors for her efforts.

During the regular season, Shane earned MPSF all-conference honors after becoming the new Stanford career saves leader on March 4 and leading the team with 35 ground balls. Shane posted a 9-8 record this season and a .534 save percentage.

The IWLCA named 128 student-athletes to the four regional first and second teams. Seven MPSF student-athletes were named to the West/Midwest first and second teams, including MPSF Player of the Year Kristie Leggio of Denver. The players named to the All-Regional teams are now eligible for the IWLCA All-American teams, which will be announced on June 16 at an awards banquet in Downingtown, PA.
