Stanford, Calif. - The start time has changed for Stanford's upcoming home scrimmage.
Stanford will now play San Jose State at 5 p.m. in Maples Pavilion on Thursday. The scrimmage will consist of four 20-minute games and score will not be kept. The event is free and open to the public.
Stanford completed its first spring scrimmage on Apr. 8 at Cal and met Saint Mary's last week. The teams played four 20-minute periods and score was not kept.
Stanford, which won its third-straight Pac-10 Championship and advanced to the NCAA title match in 2008, returns ten veterans to its 2009 roster. The returners are headlined by two-time All-American outside hitter Alix Klineman, a rising junior who has led the team in kills the past two seasons, twice been named to the Final Four All-Tournament Team and was the only underclassman named to the AVCA All-America First Team in 2008.
The Cardinal also returns setter Cassidy Lichtman, a 2008 All-Pac-10 Honorable Mention recipient, along with starting libero Gabi Ailes and starting middle blocker Janet Okogbaa.
The remainder of the spring roster includes Alex Fisher, Joanna Evans, Stephanie Browne, Jessica Walker, Katherine Knox and Katherine Sebastian.
The Cardinal will wrap up spring play at the Santa Clara Tournament, which begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 2.
