Stanford Wraps Up Seven-Game Homestand With Non-Conference Contests
The Stanford Cardinal (18-18) will wrap up its season-long, seven-game homestand with non-conference contests Monday against the San Francisco Dons (22-22) and Wednesday against the Sacramento State Hornets (23-18). Both games are set to start at 5:00 p.m. PT from Klein Field at Sunken Diamond.
Stanford is 3-2 thus far on the homestand, winning both midweek games last week (against Santa Clara and California), before dropping two of three to Arizona in the weekend, Pac-10 series. San Francisco has won five of its last six games to reach the .500 mark, while Sacramento State will look to improve to six games over the break-even mark when it finishes a four-game series with Louisiana Tech Monday afternoon.
Broadcast Information
All 56 of Stanford's regular season games, and any postseason contests, will be carried live on the home of Cardinal baseball for nearly 51 years - student station KZSU 90.1 FM. The KZSU broadcast is available on the internet either at www.kzsulive.stanford.edu or via a link on www.gostanford.com.
Erik Adams will handle play-by-play for all seven games of this homestand.

Marquess Moves Into Eighth Place on All-Time NCAA Division I Wins List
Stanford head coach Mark Marquess has compiled the eighth-most wins in NCAA Division I baseball history, having posted a 1,344-687-7 (.661) career record. With the Cardinal's 11-7 victory over California April 22, Marquess broke an eighth-place tie with Rod Dedeaux, who - according to the official NCAA record book - compiled a 1,342-597-16 record over 44 seasons at USC (1942-47 and 1949-86).
Marquess, who has spent his entire 33-yearhead coaching career at the helm of his alma mater, has the most victories by any coach of any sport in Stanford history.
Stanford-San Francisco Series
Stanford holds an 85-16-2 edge in 103 meetings with San Francisco since 1959, when the Cardinal's single-game results are available. The two teams split a pair of contests in 2008, with each club winning at the other's home park.
Stanford-Sacramento State Series
Stanford and Sacramento State have played 42 times since 1959, with the Cardinal winning 28 of hose contests. The Hornets won the only meeting in 2008, a 5-3 decision in Sacramento.

Stanford Looking to Extend Non-Conference Winning Streak to Eight Games
Beginning with a March 25 victory at UC Davis, Stanford has won its last seven midweek games for its longest non-conference winning streak since an eight-game run Feb. 28-March 4, 2007. The Cardinal is 4-0 at home during the streak, while winning all three road contests. Stanford's success has featured two victories against the Big West Conference, three against the West Coast Conference and two against Pac-10 foe California in a non-conference setting.
In those seven wins, Stanford has a team batting average of .354 (92-for-260), while scoring 73 runs (10.4 runs per game). The Cardinal has also enjoyed some of its best clutch hitting during the seven-game streak, batting .393 (42-for-107) with runners in scoring position.
Stanford pitchers, meanwhile, have forged a 3.00 ERA (21er, 63.0ip) and a .239 average against (56-for-234).
Setting the Table
Sophomore second baseman and Stanford leadoff hitter Colin Walsh has reached base safely via hit, walk or hit-by-pitch in 19 straight games. He is hitting .391 (27-for-69) with a 522 on-base percentage during the stretch, adding 20 runs scored, five doubles, 10 RBI, 19 walks and one hit-by-pitch. The switch-hitting Walsh, who has hit safely in 13 of his last 14 contests (including a career-best 12-game hitting streak March 29-April 24), extended the streak by going 2-for-6 yesterday vs. Arizona.
Going back even further, Walsh has reached base safely in 26 of the 27 games since he was permanently inserted into the leadoff spot on March 7. Stanford is 16-11 (.593) during the stretch, while Walsh has hit at a .354 clip (35-for-99) with a .504 on-base mark. In addition, Stanford's second baseman has been errorless in his last 30 games (129 total chances).
Heavy in the Middle
Stanford has averaged 6.9 runs per game while going 14-8 (.636) over its last 22 contests. A big reason behind the offensive resurgence has been the middle of its order, which has primarily consisted of LF Toby Gerhart batting third, RF Kellen Kiilsgaard hitting cleanup and 1B Brent Milleville batting fifth.
Beginning March 25, the trio of Gerhart, Kiilsgaard and Milleville is a combined 82-for-237 (.346) with 17 doubles, three triples, 17 home runs and 62 RBI. Gerhart is batting .342 (27-for-79) with six doubles, two triples, five homers and 16 RBI. Kiilsgaard has 26 hits in 81 at-bats (.321) with seven doubles, one triple, four homers and 24 RBI. Milleville is hitting at a .377 clip (29-for-77) with four doubles, eight homers and 22 RBI.
Milly is Mashing
Part of Brent Milleville's 22-game stretch has been the last 13 contests, in which he is hitting at a .392 clip (20-for-51) with four doubles, five home runs and 15 RBI. In fact, over the first five games of this homestand, Milleville is 9-for-19 (.474) with three doubles, two homers and eight RBI.
Milleville has two multi-hit games on the homestand (including a career-high tying 4-for-4 effort April 20 vs. Santa Clara), and a trio of multi-RBI contests.
Hot August Nights in April
Senior center fielder Joey August is enjoying one of the best stretches of his superb four-year career, going 19-for-49 (.388) with 10 RBI while hitting safely in 11 of his last 12 games. The stretch includes six mutli-hit contests, highlighted by a 4-for-4 effort April 20 vs. Santa Clara.
August has also hit safely in 23 of his last 25 games, batting .327 (34-for-104) with four doubles, all of his career-high four home runs and 19 RBI.
Throughout his four years on The Farm, August has been a picture of consistency at the plate. Stanford's active leader in batting average and hits, he owns a career .315 batting average (193-for-612) in 178 games (139 starts).
