STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford sophomore outside hitter Brad Lawson was named Mountain Pacific Sports Federation co-Player of the Week for his performances in the Cardinal's three-set road sweeps at No. 14 UC San Diego and No. 9 Long Beach State last weekend.
Lawson combined for 30 kills and only five errors in 47 attacks for a .532 hitting percentage as Stanford pulled into sole possession of first place in the rugged MPSF.
Lawson also had 12 digs, six assists, and four blocks (three solo). The sophomore tied for team-high kill honors in each match, with 12 (.625) against UCSD and 18 (.484) against Long Beach State.
Lawson, who is hitting .410 this season with 5.06 kills per game, shares the honor with Hawaii freshman Jonas Umlauft.
This is first MPSF Player of the Week honor for Lawson, who has twice been selected as the AVCA's National Player of the Week, and second of his career.
