Five Stanford Gymnasts Named All-Conference

Senior Carly Janiga led a group of five Stanford athletes named to the All-Pacific-10 Conference women's gymnastics team as announced by the conference office on Wednesday.

Janiga earned her fourth first-team selection and earned all-around first-team honors for the second consecutive year. Fellow senior co-captain Allyse Ishino earned her third all-conference selection, all in the uneven bars, by being named to the second team.

Three other Stanford gymnasts earned their first all-conference recognition: sophomore Alyssa Brown (balance beam), sophomore Nicole Pechanec (floor exercise), and freshmen Ashley Morgan (floor). All three were second-team selections.

Janiga was the 2010 Pac-10 floor exercise champion and all-around runner-up. She first gained All-Pac-10 honors in 2007 when she was named to the first team on the uneven bars and floor, and was named conference Freshman of the Year.
