No. 21 Pepperdine Blanks No. 37 Hawai'i 4-0

STANFORD, Calif.- No. 21 Pepperdine blanked No. 37 Hawai'i 4-0 on Saturday morning in the first round of the 2010 NCAA Men's Tennis Championship.

The Waves (17-10, 5-0 WCC) advance to Sunday's second round match and will face the winner of Stanford/Quinnipiac. The Rainbow Warriors conclude their season at 12-8 overall and 4-1 in WAC play.

Pepperdine claimed a 1-0 lead after winning the doubles point, notching victories at the Nos. 1 and 2 spots.

Alex Llompart made it 2-0 with a 6-1, 6-0 win at the No. 5 position, and Jenson Turner followed with a 6-2, 6-0 victory on court six.

Leading 3-0, Bassam Beidas edged Dennis Lajola 6-3, 7-6 (8) in a battle of players at the No. 1 spot for the clincher.
