SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - Stanford's men's golf team tied for 11th at the 65th Western Intercollegiate which wrapped up play on Sunday at the Pasatiempo Golf Club in Santa Cruz.
The Cardinal finished with a team score of 1113 for the 54-hole event, after rounds of 372, 375 and 366. Stanford finished 47 strokes behind first place UCLA (1066: +16), which earned a eight stroke victory over USC.
Defending NCAA Champion Augusta State and Oregon tied for third at 1076 (+26) while San Diego State (1085; +35) placed fifth.
Stanford's Andrew Yun tied for second on the individual leaderboard, two strokes behind medalist Timothy Madigan of New Mexico State, who won the event with a three under score of 207 on rounds of 69, 68 and 70.
Yun shot a one-over 71 on Sunday after rounds of 68 and 70 on Saturday to record his sixth top-five finish of the year, including his fourth straight.
Freshman Shane Lebow tied for 57th at 225 (+15) after shooting a seven over par 77 on Sunday.
Junior David Chung shot a final round 74 to tie for 61st at 226 (+16).
Sophomore Steven Kearney tied for 64th at 227 (+17) on rounds of 78, 72 and 77.
Senior Graham Brockinton tied for 76th at 232 (+22) after shooting a final round 73 on Sunday.
Freshman Cameron Wilson tied for 84th at 235 (+25) on rounds of 75, 81 and 79.
Stanford will next be in action at the Pac-10 Men's Golf Championships, slated for April 29-May 1 at Stanford Golf Course.
