TEMPE, Ariz. - Stanford's women's golf team shot a team score of 298 on Monday and are tied for second at the Pac-10 Women's Golf Championships being held in Tempe, Ariz.

With a 36-hole team score of 580, Stanford tied with Arizona, seven strokes behind first place USC at 573.

The Trojans took over sole possession of first place with a three over 291, while the Cardinal's second round team score on Monday was 16 strokes higher than its six-under first round score of 282.

Arizona turned in its second straight two-over round of 290 to climb into second place tie with Stanford.

UCLA is in fourth place at 584 (+8) followed by California at 588 (+12).

Freshman Marissa Mar and Sally Watson remain in the title chase for medalist honors, as both players are part of a six-way tie for fourth place at 143 (-1).

Tiffany Lua of UCLA and Sophia Popov of USC are tied atop the leaderboard at 140 (-4) while USC's Cyna Rodriguez is holding onto third place at 141 (-3).

Mar, who entered the second round tied for second place after Sunday's three-under 69, got off to a blazing start, collecting birdies on three of her first five holes to move to six-under. However, she played her final 13 holes at five-over par and finished with a second round score of 74 (+2).

Watson had three birdies and four bogies on her card Tuesday en route to a second round 73.

Kristina Wong, who shot a two-under 70 on Sunday, sliped back into a tie for 11th place following a second round 75 (+3). She was even par on her round through the first eight holes before recording a double bogey 6 on the par-4, ninth hole.

Senior Rebecca Durham carded a second round 76 and is tied for 20th at 149 (+5), while junior Lila Barton is tied for 27th at 154 (+10) after shooting a 78 on Monday.

The final round of the Pac-10 Women's Golf Championships get underway tomorrow at 7:30 a.m. at the Karsten Course in Tempe.
