Hey there Card fans!
My name is Sarah Hassman, but most people call me Hass, and I am a junior outfielder. I would like to start off by saying it has been great seeing all of you in the stands these past couple of home weekends, and I hope you guys can keep it up! It is always nice to have a good size home crowd to play in front of.
I am sure as many of you have heard; we just came off a great weekend here at home, sweeping the Oregon State Beavers. Both our pitchers looked great in the circle and we got offensive contributions from everyone. It is never easy to beat a team three times, especially when you have to play them three days in a row, but we came out to play each day and were able to get the sweep.
It has been a busy week on The Farm for many of us, it is that great time of year again... midterm season! Even with our exams going on we still know how to leave our school stuff behind once we step on the field. We had a great showing of that the other night when we had a road game at Pacific. We came out and scored early in the game and were able to win it 6-1. Teagan Gerhart did a great job in the circle, and Ashley Chinn came in to close it out for us in the 7th. It is always great to get wins like that on the road; you never know where we could end up playing in postseason.
We are hoping to take this momentum into this weekend. Yep, another big weekend coming up, we play our rivals Cal. It would be great to see some familiar faces over in Berkeley to support us.
