Four Stanford Players Earn All-MPSF Volleyball Honors

Brad Lawson was named to the All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation first team for the second consecutive year to headline Stanford's all-conference honors, as selected by MPSF coaches Thursday.

Lawson, a junior outside hitter from Honolulu, Hawaii, was one of four Cardinal players to receive recognition. Senior outside hitter Spencer McLachlin and junior libero Erik Shoji were named to the All-MPSF second team, and middle blocker Eric Mochalski was named to the All-Freshman team.

Lawson was the MPSF Player of the Year last season and Shoji earned second-team honors for the third consecutive season. This is the second all-conference selection for McLachlin, who was a third-team choice as a sophomore. Mochalski is one of two freshmen to start for Stanford and is second in the MPSF in hitting percentage at .455.

No. 4-ranked Stanford (19-8) plays host to No. 5 Long Beach State (14-13) in the first round of the MPSF tournament on Saturday at 7 p.m. at Maples Pavilion.
