STANFORD, Calif. - The No. 10/11 Stanford softball team (32-10) travels to Davis, Calif., Tuesday, Apr. 26 to take on the UC Davis Aggies (19-21). First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m. from La Rue Field.

Stanford defeated Pacfic on the road last week, 6-1, before dropping its season series, 1-2, against rival California in Berkeley, Calif.

Freshman Michelle Prong led the team in the win at Pacific on Apr. 19. The utility player tallied two hits, including a double, and two RBI. Junior third baseman Jenna Becerra hit her first home run of the season in the win.

Against Cal, freshman Corey Hanewich led the team with a .455 average on five hits, while junior Ashley Hansen went 4-9 with a double, an RBI and a run scored. Sophomore pitcher Teagan Gerhart earned the save in Stanford's 2-1 win on Friday. She finished the weekend with a 1.70 ERA and 11 strikeouts.

UC Davis went 1-2 last week in a three-game series versus Cal State Fullerton in Big West Conference play. The Aggies are now 4-8 in their conference.

The Aggies are led by senior Alex Holmes and sophomore Elizabeth Santana. Holmes, a pitcher/designated player, leads the team with a .375 batting average, 10 doubles, eight triples and 48 hits on the season. Santana, an infielder, is hitting .345 with a team-high 15 RBI on 40 hits. In the circle, Holmes paces the team with a 2.43 ERA and 167 strikeouts.

Stanford holds a 14-3 all-time record over UC Davis. The Cardinal has already defeated the Aggies twice this season. Stanford won 5-3 on Feb. 27 as part of the Stanford Nike Invitational. The other victory, 4-3 in favor of the Cardinal, came on Mar. 22 at Smith Family Stadium.
