BRYAN, Texas - Stanford shot a second round team score of 305 on Thursday and sits in 18th place at the halfway point of the NCAA Women's Golf Championships being contested at The Traditions Club in Bryan, Texas.
The Cardinal improved by three strokes from its opening round score of 308 on Thursday, however, trail first place UCLA by 29 shots afer two rounds of play.
The Bruins continue to hold the top spot on the leaderboard at 584 (+8) after shooting a 295 on Thursday. UCLA has a three stroke lead over defending champion Purdue (587) and are four strokes in front of LSU (588).
Texas A&M (589), Vanderbilt and Virginia (591) and Florida (592) remain in striking distance.
LSU's Austin Ernst shot a six-under 66 on Thursday to take over sole possession of first place at 138 (-6). Ernst has a three stroke lead over Purdue's Numa Gulyanamitta (141).
Sally Watson is tied for 49th at 151 (+7) after shooting a 77 on Thursday.
Kristina Wong is tied for 63rd at 152 (+8) after tunring in a team low round of 74 on Thursday. Wong was even par on her round after birdies on 10 and 11, but bogied the 12th and 16th holes to finish with a 74.
Marissa Mar is tied for 77th at 154 after shooting a 75 in the second round.
Rebecca Durham (157) and Lila Barton (163) are tied for 98th and 118th plae, respectively.
The NCAA Women's Golf Championships continue with third round action on Friday in Bryan, Texas.
