STANFORD, Calif. - Sophomore two-meter Annika Dries headlines the All-MPSF honors Tuesday, being named MPSF Player of the Year, the conference announced. Six Cardinal players total, including Dries, earned All-MPSF recognition on the various teams, as well.

Dries, who was also named to the conference's first team, currently ranks third in the MPSF with 2.23 goals per game, and tops the Cardinal with 58 goals scored. She also joins Ellen Estes (1998) and Brenda Villa (2001, 2003) in earning Stanford's fourth conference player of the year honor.

Fellow two-meter Melissa Seidemann, a junior from Walnut Creek, Calif. joined Dries on the All-MPSF First Team. For Seidemann, who is second on the squad with 44 goals and ninth in the MPSF with 1.69 goals per game, the announcement marks the third straight year that she has earned All-MPSF recognition and her first selection to the first team.

Senior goalie Amber Oland, third in the conference with a 4.98 goals-against average and boasting 7.71 saves per game, was named to the second team, the third time overall that she has been recognized. Oland, along with sophomore goalie Kate Baldoni, forms the top goalkeeping tandem in the nation, as the Cardinal boasts an MPSF-best team GAA of 4.73.

Drivers Kim Krueger and Alyssa Lo both received honorable mention accolades from the conference for their performances so far in 2011. Each player has scored at least 30 goals so far in 2011, with Krueger matching her career-best with an even 30, and Lo's 38 goals currently beating her previous best of 22 by a wide margin.

Freshman Kaley Dodson earned a spot on the MPSF's All-Newcomer Team. The Seal Beach, Calif. native has scored 26 goals so far in 2011.

Together, Stanford's five field players honored by the MPSF have contributed to Stanford being the conference's top-scoring team with 12.31 goals per game.

Stanford (25-1) will next see action at the National Collegiate Women's Water Polo Championship, set to be held at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor from May 13-15. The Cardinal, the top seed in the draw, will open play in the quarterfinal round Friday at 3 p.m. PT against the winner of May 7's play-in game between MAAC champion Iona and SCIAC champion Redlands.
