STANFORD, Calif. - The Stanford track and field teams were well represented with the announcement of the MPSF All-Academic teams. The Cardinal had a total of 40 athletes honored, including 22 womena nd 18 men.
The Cardinal women were led by Kathy Kroeger who was earning the award for the first time. Kroeger leads the Cardinal with a 3.949 GPA, while majoring in math and computational science.
Kroeger was one of three first team All-Americans from the indoor season that were also named to MPSF All-Academic Team. Joining Kroeger were Arantxa King and Katerina Stefanidi. The Cardinal also had three second team All-Americans earn MPSF academic honors, those being Justine Fedronic, Joy O'Hare and Kellie Schueler.
The other women named to he MPSF All-Academic team were Emilie Amaro, Kori Carter, Taylor Dewberry, Claire Durkin, Sophia Ginez, Angela Gradiska, Shataya Hendricks, Ellie McCardwell, Sarah McCurdy, Jordan Merback, Katie Nelms, Elaine Patten, Victoria Pennings, Kala Stepter, Jessica Tonn and Alyssa Wisdom.
On the men's side, Miles Unterreiner led the Cardinal, earning the award for a third time. Unterreiner carries a 4.054 GPA while majoring in history. Also honored for a third time were seniors Chris Derrick, Corey Dysick, Brendan Gregg, Amaechi Morton and Jake Riley.
Derrick, Gregg, Morton and Riley were among the All-Americans to be honored, along with Michael Atchoo.
The other MPSF All-Academic honorees for the men were Marco Bertolotti, Kevin Cardey, Dylan Ferris, Kevin Havel, Jeremy Hines, Patton Jones, Kenny Krotzer, Tyler Stutzman, Geoffrey Tabor, Ryan Valdes and Tyler Valdes.
Stanford trailed only BYU for the most honorees in the MPSF. The Cardinal women had the most, but BYU had the most for the men and overall.
