Cardinal Set for Pacific Coast Intercollegiate at Half Moon Bay

STANFORD, Calif. -- - Stanford will make the short drive up Highway 280 to compete in Pacific Coast Intercollegiate which gets underway on Monday on the Ocean Course at the Half Moon Bay Golf Links.

Teams will play 36 holes on Monday and wrap up with 18 holes on Tuesday.

Admission is free.

Joining Stanford in the 15-team field will be top-ranked UCLA, No. 3 USC, No. 14 California, No. 16 Oklahoma State and No. 19 Arizona, along with Oregon, UC Davis, Washington, Oregon State, Long Beach State, San Jose State, UC Irvine, Washington State and Fresno State.

Stanford head coach Caroline O'Connor is expected to start a lineup featuring (in order) sophomore Marissa Mar, junior Sally Watson, freshman Mariko Tumangan, junior Kristina Wong and senior Sydney Burlison.

The Cardinal is coming off an 11th place finish at the PING/ASU Invitational, a tournament where Stanford was tied for second after the first round.

Mar tied for third, her best finish as a collegian, while Watson recorded her third straight top-10 finish by tying for seventh.

The Pacific Coast Intercollegiate will be Stanford's last event prior to the Pacific-12 Championships, set for April 27-29 in Pullman, Wash.
