STANFORD, Calif. - The Buffalo Bills announced today former Stanford safety Delano Howell has signed a non-drafted free agent contract with the team.
Howell is expected to join the other nine undrafted free agents at the Bills' rookie camp which opens on May 11.
A three-year starting safety, Howell finished his career with 190 total tackles and seven interceptions in 34 career games in the secondary after beginning his career as a running back. He earned first team all-conference honors in 2011 after second team and honorable mention selections in 2009 and '10.
As a senior, Howell finished with 52 tackles, four pass breakups, a fumble recovery and a forced fumble despite missing three games with injury.
