STANFORD, Calif.-- Stanford Sailing produced seven of the possible 12 all-conference sailors on Monday. All seven are underclassmen, who helped the Cardinal sweep the fall and spring conference titles.
Sophomore skippers Kevin Laube and Mateo Vargas were named all-Pacific Coast Collegiate Sailing Conference for the second-straight year, while classmate Oliver Toole earned the honor for the first time.
On the crew side, where Stanford earned four of the six members, sophomores Helena Scutt and Kelly Ortel earned their first honors along with freshmen Kaitlyn Baab and Haley Kirk.
In total, 10 of the 18 all-conference sailors went to the PCCSC champions.
Last week three of the six all-conference women's skippers-- Sally Mace, Eliza Richartz and Molly McKinney were named.
In a conference first, the Cardinal won all six conference championships-- the men's and women's singlehanded titles, the match championship, the three-boat team, coed and women's titles.
