Men's Team | Women's Team
WALNUT CREEK, Calif.-- Bobby Bollier was named the Pac-12 Conference's Scholar Athlete of the Year and joined 10 of his male teammates on the Academic All-Pac-12 team on Friday. The women featured six academic All-Pac-12 performers.
Bollier, who carries a cumulative 3.75 GPA in mechanical engineering, finished off his career as a 14-time All-American with 109 points at the NCAA Championships (31st all-time at Stanford). He reached the A Finals of both the 500 free and 200 fly at last month's championships.
Joining Bollier on the first team was mechanical engineering majors Curtis Lovelace (3.75 GPA), and Eirik Ravnan (3.93), biomechanical engineers David Mosko (3.40) and Rob Andrews (3.75) and management, science and engineering major Morgan Priestly (3.65). The six first teammers and five second teammers are the most in the Pac-12 by any men's program.
On the women's side, Stephanie Phipps (3.72) had the highest GPA, as a biology major, followed by international relations major Kerry Kraemer (3.69) and biology major Kaia Simmons (3.69). All three were on the first team.
Second team selections included Noah Garica (3.46), Bryan Offutt (3.63), Mack Montgomery (3.34), Andrew Saeta (3.41), Matthew Swanston (3.27) and Matt Thompson (3.28) on the men's side and Jamie Bruce (3.45), Jessie Hammes (3.62) and Sam Woodward (3.43) on the women's side.
An additional five men and nine women were honorable mention selections. The women's six first and second teammers was second to UCLA's seven total athletes.
