STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford senior Nick Amuchastegui was named to the Capital One Men's At-Large First Team All-District VIII, Friday, as announced by the College of Sports Information Directors of America.

Amuchastegui is selected to the first team for the third consecutive season. The reigning Men's At-Large Academic All-American of the Year, Auchastegui is now in contention to become an Academic All-American for the third straight year.

The Talent, Ore., native holds a 3.89 GPA at Stanford and is pursuing his master's in mechanical engineering. Amuchastegui was named the Pac-12 Scholar-Athlete of the Year for wrestling last month.

Amuchastegui finished the season 24-1, dropping his only match of the year in the NCAA finals. He became just the second Stanford wrestler to be named Conference Wrestler of the Year, a unanimous choice by the Pac-12 coaches. Amuchastegui is a two-time NCAA finalist and one of just two Cardinal wrestlers to become a three-time NCAA All-American.

CoSIDA rules limit the number of at-large nominees per school, three per gender. Stanford swimmer Bobby Bollier and men's volleyball player Brad Lawson joined Amuchastegui on the first team.
