Radio for Santa Clara Game

STANFORD, Calif, -- Stanford men's soccer rolls into the final game of spring on the back of a fantastic 4-2 win against Sunderland AFC Academy last Friday evening. An excellent crowd, cheering on both the Cardinal players and the future stars of the English Premier League, were treated to a fine display of attractive soccer from both teams.

"What a great advert for soccer!" voiced head coach Jeremy Gunn after the game.

"Both teams played wonderful expansive attacking soccer and as a result it was a very exciting, entertaining game. Some of the Sunderland players will be destined for the Premier League in the future, but tonight we were a little too much for them. Our passing and movement was some of the best we have seen this Spring, and so overall we were very pleased. We managed to attack in many different ways, and showed a real desire to look for goals. The third and decisive goal was sheer class by Adam Jahn to create the opening, and a cool composed finish by Zach Batteer - worthy of winning any game."

This Wednesday evening Stanford Soccer will close out its spring season against Santa Clara at 7pm at Cagen Stadium. The game will be free to spectators and will also be broadcast live online by KZSU-2. The link to the game is HERE.
