Women's Golf Coach Caroline O'Connor Resigns

STANFORD, Calif. -- - Caroline O'Connorhas resigned her position as Margot and Mitch Milias Director of Women's Golf after 17 seasons at the helm of the Stanford program.

"I feel very fortunate to have been a part of the Stanford community and to have worked with so many extraordinary student-athletes and coaches for the past 17 years," said O'Connor.

"Stanford will always hold a special place in my heart and I look forward to watching the development of the women's golf program for years to come."

Stanford made 15 trips to the NCAA Championships during O'Connor's tenure, including three top-five finishes. In 2000, Stanford finished second at the NCAA Championships, marking the program's best national finish in school history.

Stanford also placed fourth in 1997 and fifth in 2007.

O'Connor guided Stanford to the 1999 Pac-10 Conference Championship, as the Cardinal won the title on its home course. Stanford also made strong runs at the conference championship in 2000 and '01, eventually finishing second.
