Stanford Impressive on International Scene

Not only did the Cardinal program rise to new heights in the 1998-1999 collegiate season, but Stanford also sent several athletes to compete on the international level as well. From the Can-Am Circuit and Pan-Am Games in North America to the World University Games, IAAF Grand Prix Series and IAAF World Championships in Europe, the Stanford presence around the globe proved unmistakable.

The headliners of the Cardinal contingent took their skills to Seville, Spain, in August for the World Championships. Senior Brad Hauser represented the United States in the 10,000 meters, and associate coach Robert Weir wore the red, white and blue of Great Britain while throwing the discus.
