Saleema Rogers begins her first season as an assistant field hockey coach at Stanford in 2005. A former teammate of head coach Lesley Irvine at Iowa, Rogers will work primarily with the goalkeepers and defense.
Rogers has spent the past two seasons (2003-04) as an assistant coach at Dartmouth, working with the team's goalkeepers in addition to her recruiting responsibilities.
Rogers played four seasons of collegiate field hockey at Iowa (1999-2002), where she was a member of the Hawkeyes' NCAA Final Four team in 1999 and was selected to play in the 2002 NFHCA North-South Senior All-Star following her final campaign.
"We are thrilled to have Saleema Rogers on our coaching staff at Stanford," said Irvine. "She is an expert in goalkeeper, having both played and coached at the highest level. Saleema has very high expectations for our team, and she's enjoyed coming in here and impacting our defensive unit."
Rogers graduated a Bachelor's of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design from Iowa in 2002.
